Outdoor skim coat for cement surfaces
Coating based on water-based epoxy resin, suitable for courtyards, walkways, and outdoor spaces.
Substrate Preparation
Suitable treatment for solid, leveled concrete surfaces (CLS), free from oils, detergents, dust, or other contaminants. Mechanical preparation by grinding with diamond tools or by shot blasting to leave the substrate porous and absorbent. Clean all existing joints, as they will be replicated on the finished flooring. To prevent water pooling, ensure an appropriate slope.
Application
- After thorough vacuuming, apply one coat of PAVIWATER TES with a roller, diluted 1:3 with water, at a consumption of approximately 0.05 kg/m². It is not necessary to wait for curing; the next phase can proceed immediately.
- Apply a coat of ECOFONDO PLUS FIBRATO, using a trowel. Product consumption: 1.0 kg/m².
- Once hardened, sand if necessary, then apply a second coat with ECOFONDO PLUS FIBRATO. Product consumption: 1 kg/m².
- After curing, sand to remove any raised ridges. Proceed with application using a trowel of MALTA ES3, colorable with 5% COLORPASTA W. Consumption per coat: 0.40–0.50 kg/m². The choice of one or two coats depends on the desired effect.
- Apply a first coat of PAVIWATER TES with a roller, diluted 1:3 with water, at a consumption of 0.05 kg/m².
- Apply a second coat of PAVIWATER TES with a roller, diluted 1:3 with water, at a consumption of 0.05 kg/m².
- Cut the coating along the concrete joints and seal with SIGILFLEX® MS silane elastomer. Since the system is not elastic, it will naturally reproduce any substrate cracks that may form over time.
The resulting coating thickness is approximately 2.5 mm.
