Smoothing system which can disperse the electro-static charges and avoid dangerous electrical discharges (ESD)

Colored trowel-applied system for cementitious substrates free from rising damp, capable of dissipating electrostatic charges.
The system is based on epoxy resins, formulated with high solids content, with an approximate thickness of 1 mm.
The products are enhanced with highly conductive additives to create antistatic flooring, providing electrical conductivity that prevents the accumulation of electrostatic charges.

Typical applications of antistatic coatings include: chemical, electronic, and mechanical industries (particularly in the presence of AGV carts), operating rooms, and areas at risk of flammable or explosive atmospheres.

Surface Preparation

Concrete substrates must be solid, dry, level, absorbent, and free from oils, detergents, dust, or other contaminants. For newly cast screeds, the normal curing time must be observed.
Evaluate the most suitable mechanical preparation method: grinding or shot-blasting.
As this is a non-breathable system, the presence of a vapor barrier must be verified, and there must be no rising damp (otherwise, use the self-leveling AUT07 system). The concrete must also be properly grounded to ensure a resistance between 10,000 and 100,000 Ohms.

Application

  1. To saturate the floor porosity, apply one coat of PAVIWATER T68 with a roller, diluted 1:3 with water, at a product consumption of approximately 0.05 kg/m².
  2. Establish grounding points by applying copper strips near electrical boxes.
Trowel the surface with a smooth spatula using SUPERCONDUPLAST, filled 30% with Quartz B0, at a consumption of approximately 0.40 kg/m².
  3. If necessary, seal expansion joints with SUPERCONDUPLAST, filled 1:3 with Quartz B1 (product consumption negligible).
Trowel the surface with CONDUPLAST, filled 30% with Quartz B0, at a consumption of approximately 0.30 kg/m².
  4. Apply one coat of PAVIWATER ESD with a roller, diluted 10% with water, at a product consumption of approximately 0.13 kg/m².
  5. Cut the coating along the concrete joints and seal with the polyurethane elastomer SIGILFLEX.

The resulting coating thickness is approximately 1.0 mm.
