Self-leveling coating for ceramic surfaces, with solvent-free epoxy formulations.

Colored self-leveling system, approximately 4 mm thick, to be applied on ceramic surfaces free from rising damp.
The system is based on epoxy resins with high-solid formulations.
This system is capable of completely renewing the environment, effectively "hiding" the tiles and their joints.

Substrate Preparation

Ceramic tiles must be ground until their surface is matte. Concrete conglomerate tiles must be made porous and absorbent through careful grinding or shot blasting. As this is a non-breathable system, check for the presence of a vapor barrier, and ensure there is no rising damp.

Application

  1. Install Glass Fiber Mesh with a weight of 70 g/m². Apply a skim coat of FLUIDEPOX, loaded 1:0.5 with Quarzo B0, at a consumption of 1 kg/m².
Use a smooth trowel for application. While still fresh, broadcast Quarzo B2 at random, at a consumption of approximately 2 kg/m², taking care the following day to remove any unbound excess quartz.
  2. Sand to remove the most noticeable irregularities. Level the surface with FLUIDEPOX, loaded 50% with Quarzo B0, at a consumption of approximately 0.7–1.0 kg/m². Use a smooth trowel for application.
  3. Pour the self-leveling mortar, distributing it with a notched trowel and leveling the surface with a spiked roller. Prepare the mortar by mixing the two components of PAVIPLAST, loaded 1:0.8 with Quarzo B0, at a consumption of 1.8 kg/m².
  4. If a lower gloss and slight surface roughness are desired, apply a coat of PAVIWATER in the desired color with a roller, diluted 10% with water, at a consumption of approximately 0.130 kg/m².
  5. Cut the coating along the concrete joints and seal with SIGILFLEX polyurethane elastomer.

The resulting coating thickness is approximately 4 mm.
