Resin is not very demanding in terms of cleaning. Thanks to its low-porosity surface, it has an intrinsic property of dirt resistance. Since it is a water-repellent surface, any stains are only superficial. Over time, the surface may become slightly porous: in this case, after normal cleaning, it is possible to apply a special wax that closes the surface microcells. The guidelines to follow involve several specific points:

  1. The importance of the detergent. Choosing a quality detergent specific to your needs is crucial. If operating under HACCP regulations, specific detergents must be used.
  2. The application time of the detergent. All detergents, even the most aggressive ones, need a minimum application time on the surface to do their job. Even when using a floor scrubber machine, it is essential to make a first pass to deposit the cleaning liquid and perform suction only on a second pass, after a few minutes.
  3. Hand washing Hand washing in industrial settings is considered effective only if done methodically, including:
    • Mechanical removal of solid deposits.
    • Application of the detergent, diluted as per the manufacturer's specifications.
    • Mechanical cleaning with appropriate brushes.
    • Optional action of the pressure washer with warm water.
    • Removal of the liquid with rinsing.
  1. Cleaning with scrubber machines Cleaning a resin floor with scrubber machines must be done in two passes to allow the detergent to act chemically on the surface. The first pass involves scrubbing with soft brushes and simultaneous release of the cleaning liquid. The second pass, performed after a few minutes, will be done with mechanical scrubbing of the brushes and suction of the liquids.
  2. The concept of periodic maintenance. The removal of contaminants and cleaning becomes easier with more frequent cleaning operations. It is essential to plan a regular maintenance and cleaning schedule to keep the flooring in good condition and avoid "end-of-year cleanings," which will inevitably be disappointing.
  3. Surface renewal of the coating After a period of time in which the floors are subject to heavy wear, especially in industrial environments where they are heavily stressed, it may be necessary to proceed with surface renewal of the coating.

Let's delve into the CYCLE of MAINTENANCE of RESIN FLOORS Resin flooring consists of an organic surface coating with decorative or protective functions. Wear results in the formation of abrasions and micro-abrasions that cause aging of the coating, regardless of the finish thickness.

To prevent premature aging of the surface, scheduled maintenance should include:

  • DAILY CLEANING to wash and protect the surface: Use scrubbers with soft brushes or "white/red pad" with a neutral, shiny-effect detergent.
  • DEEP CLEANING to be carried out occasionally to remove stains and halos: Use scrubbers with soft brushes or "green pad" with an alkaline detergent (pH 12.5). It is advisable to make a first pass without suctioning the cleaning liquid, then after a few seconds, go over it with the machine in normal washing and suction mode. After treatment, proceed with the DAILY CLEANING cycle.
  • SURFACE RENEWAL OF THE COATING extraordinary intervention to be performed when the coating is heavily worn or stained: This intervention involves repainting since the mixed action of detergency and abrasion creates a mechanical action that makes the surface porous. Use a high-speed single brush with a "black pad" mounted on a driver disk. The mechanical action is combined with the use of a strongly alkaline detergent (pH 14). At the end of the washing cycle, the floor must be thoroughly rinsed and dried. Proceed with repainting using our PAVIWATER, FINIWATER, or FINISOL epoxy or polyurethane products. If using a transparent product, use clean shoe covers or paper caps.
