SMALTURA®
Monocomponent polyurethane colored waterborne
Single-component water-based polyurethane enamel. Particularly suitable for simple coloring of small surfaces on industrial floors in resin or concrete, new or pre-existing, or for wall skirting boards.
Type: Polyurethane Water Top-coatings
Description
Easy-to-use one-component product based on polyurethane dispersion in aqueous vehicle.By evaporation of water, a continuous film is formed that presents:
- high anchoring properties on various supports
- excellent mechanical properties
- good abrasion resistance
- good solvent resistance
- excellent resistance to atmospheric agents
Use
Coloring of concrete floors.
To renew the color on resin flooring of old construction.
Paint for wall plinths.
Support
The substrate must have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm2 and a tensile strength of 1,5 N/mm2.
Preparation of the support
Concrete bottoms. They must be solid, dry (seasoned if newly built), leveled, absorbent, not polluted by oils, detergents, powders or other substances.
Evaluate the most convenient type of mechanical preparation (abrasivation or shot blaster). Any holes and slight anomalies can be repaired with PAVIRAPID or SIVITCOL. Before application, apply a recovery of FIBROPROTEX PRIMER, for a consumption of 0.10-0.20 kg/m2.
Tiled floors should be abrasive or shot blaster up to a completely opaque surface.
Existing resin coatings must be abrasive or shot blaster, thus eliminating dust residues.
Application
Homogenize the product before use.
SMALTURA is a single-component product: use it "as is". Apply in 2 stages, using a mini-roller or brush. The consumption for each shoot is about 100 g/m2 (dry film of 31 microns).
Avoid too thick films: you would delay the development of the final characteristics of the film, in particular deep drying and sensitivity to water. To achieve a more shiny appearance you can apply a shot to finish of SMALTURA T.
