SMALTURA® T
Monocomponent polyurethane waterborne transparent
Single-component water-based polyurethane varnish. Transparent finish for resin coatings or concrete surfaces.
Glossy appearance.
Type: Polyurethane Water Top-coatings
Description
Easy-to-use one-component product based on polyurethane dispersion in aqueous vehicle.
By evaporation of water, a continuous film is formed that presents:
- high anchoring properties on various supports
- excellent mechanical properties
- good abrasion resistance
- good solvent resistance
- excellent resistance to atmospheric agents
Use
Finishing for epoxy-cement thickness coatings.
Finishing of resin coatings and to make surfaces painted with SMALTURA more shiny.
Transparent painting of cement or brick surfaces.
Support
The substrate must have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm2 and a tensile strength of 1,5 N/mm2.
Preparation of the support
Each support must be cleaned, degreased and free of old enamels during detachment.
Sanding or surface abrasive to promote adhesion.
Spread a shoot of primer FIBROPROTEX PRIMER (0.15–0.20 kg/m2) on absorbent substrates such as bricks or cement surfaces.
Sand the surface. Such sanding is not necessary if it is applied SMALTURA T on SMALTURA and if no more than 2 days have passed.
Application
Homogenize the product before use.
Use the product "as is"; It is possible to dilute with water up to a maximum of 5%.
Avoid too thick films: you would delay the development of the final characteristics of the film, in particular deep drying and sensitivity to water.
N.B.: SMALTURA T cannot be applied directly on absorbent substrates because film defects may be found.
