Preparation of the substrate

The concrete substrate must be solid, dry, levelled, absorbent, not polluted by oils, detergents, dust or any other substance. For new concrete screeds, the normal curing time must be respected. Choose the most convenient mechanical preparation: grinding or shot-blasting. As this is a non-breathable cycle, verify the presence of a vapour barrier and avoid any rising damp.

Application

  1. Apply a layer of FLUIDEPOX, loaded 50% with Quarzo B0, for a consumption of FLUIDEPOX of 0.3-0.5 kg/m². When still fresh, seed till saturation with Quarzo B2, for a consumption of about 2-3 kg/m², taking away the next day the exceeding quartz.
  2. Sand to remove the most marked irregularities.
Apply a layer of FLUIDEPOX, loaded in a ratio of 1 to 0.5 with Quarzo B0, for a consumption of FLUIDEPOX of about 0.7-1.0 kg/m². Apply it with the American trowel. When still fresh, seed till saturation with Quarzo B1, for a consumption of about 1.5 kg/m², taking away the next day the exceeding quartz.
  3. Sand to remove the most marked irregularities.
Apply a layer of PAVIPLAST, loaded in a ratio of 1 to 0.5 with Quarzo B0, for a consumption of PAVIPLAST of 0.7 kg/m². Apply it with the American trowel.
  4. Proceed with the cutting of the coating along the joints of the concrete and seal with the polyurethane elastomer SIGILFLEX.

The final thickness of the coating is around 3-4 mm.
