PAVIWATER® ESD A+B
Waterborne electrostratic dissipative epoxy enamel
Two-component waterborne enamel with static-dissipative properties. Suitable for environments with the presence of devices sensitive to electrostatic charges (ref. ANSI/ESD STM 97.1 /97.2 and IEC 61340-5-1). Suitable for floors in Atex class II environments and antistatic floors according to EN1504-2 class II.
Glossy appearance.
Type: Anti-Static Coverings
Description
Two-component waterborne enamel based on epoxy and amine resins, with a high solids content.
Innovative raw materials based on carbon nanotubes give the coating electrical conductivity compliant with the main ESD standards.
The resistivity value is homogeneous and constant across the entire surface, allowing surface charges to be dispersed and discharged transversely onto the underlying layer.
Excellent wear resistance.
Easy to clean and sanitized.
Use
- Static-dissipative coating for indoor floors.
- Suitable to color e renew old resin floors.
- Enamel for wall skirting boards.
- Suitable for ATEX Class II environments.
- Suitable for electronics companies and anywhere electrostatic-sensitive devices are manufactured or assembled (ref. ANSI/ESD STM 97.1/97.2 and IEC 61340-5-1).
- Suitable to obtain floors with Class II antistatic properties in accordance with EN 1504-2
Support
The substrate must have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm2 and a tensile strength of 1,5 N/mm2.
Preparation of the support
Concrete substrates must be solid, dry (seasoned if newly built), level, absorbent, and free from oils, detergents, release agents, dust, or other substances.
Verify that there is no rising damp.
Evaluate the most suitable mechanical preparation method (abrasivation or sanding).
Any holes or minor defects can be repaired beforehand with PAVIRAPID or SIVITCOL.
Tiled floors should be abraded or sanded until the surface is completely opaque.
Existing resin coatings should be abraded or sanded, thus eliminating any dust residue.
Absorbent or chalking cement surfaces should first be treated with PAVIWATER T68 diluted 1:3 with water.
Surfaces prepared by sanding that show signs of abrasion should be smoothed with suitable Sivit products (contact Sivit Technical Support).
Damp substrates or those subject to rising damp must be treated with SUPERCONDUPLAST W.
Application
Carefully stir the COLORPASTA W coloring paste to even out any sediment.
Combine the paste with A component and mix thoroughly. Then add component B and mix for 2 minutes, using appropriate equipment (drill with auger) and taking care to clean the sides of the containers with a spatula to ensure complete mixing.
After mixing, wait the induction time of 15' by letting the product rest in the can.
Check into application system if is necessary provide grounding points by applying copper strips near electrical boxes.
Static-dissipative coating.
Slowly add 10% of dilution water to the A+B mixture while stirring.
Apply by roller, covering ~0.130 kg/m2 each coat. Keep the product stirred during application to prevent sedimentation.
To improve anti-slip properties add 3-5% by weight of SFERETTE DI VETRO (FINE or COARSE). Always check if this addition does not affect existing certifications.
Static-dissipative smoothing.
At the moment of application, add 30% by weight of SFERETTE DI VETRO to the mixture and apply with a trowel, for a maximum consumption of 0.200 kg/m2. Then proceed with a second application by roller according to the instructions above.
Warning: avoid preparing partial mixture to avoid accidental errors, which could lead to incomplete hardening. Not respecting the induction time or the pot-life of the mixture leads to uneven finishes, in particular with regard to alterated colors or gloss levels. Protect the surface from humidity, condensation and water for at least 24 hours from application.
Note. Overcoating with protective not specific clearcoat turns the surface no more conductive.application.
Note. Overcoating with protective not specific clearcoat turns the surface no more conductive.
Warnings
Different production batches of the same color may have small differences: use material from a single production batch for each area to be treated.
Some colors based on organic pigments (red, blue, green, intense yellows, ...) tend to give color if they are subjected to abrasion (dry or wet): in these cases it is advisable to choose as last coat the PU grade (FINISOL ESD).
