WE GUARANTEE THE QUALITY AND SAFETY OF YOUR WORK
SIVIT has always historically been oriented towards proposing solutions with a low content of solvents. It has always offered both solvent-free products (primers, self-leveling compounds and mortars) and products in water dispersion (primers, decorative mortars and finishes). In the latter case, SIVIT boasts thirty years of know-how having been a pioneer in the development of the first polyurethane coatings water-based two- component.
SIVIT quickly and completely complied with the mandatory requirements established by European legislation on VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) starting from Dir.Eu.42 / 2004.
In addition to limiting emissions, for a lower impact on air pollution, great attention has always been paid to the healthiness of the environments (whether industrial, commercial or residential); numerous solvents, still widely used in the construction sector, they are not used as raw material in SIVIT formulations due to their toxicological profile.
As confirmation of the low emissivity characteristics, SIVIT has decided for several years to certify many products and cycles according to the French Voc Regulation 321/11 obtaining the well-known A + mark.
This mark certifies the highest level regarding the quality of the interior environments with the resin coating. In this way Sivit guarantees not only a VOC content reduced to a minimum, but also the absence of CMR or VOC substances that are harmful to health both for applicators and end users.
Innovative ESD systems
A resin surface is by its nature an electrical insulator and is therefore subject to natural accumulation of electrostatic charges. In some industrial / commercial environments it is mandatory to have a surface that can dissipate these charges.
An electrically insulated surface accumulates static electricity in several ways, e.g. for the presence of electrical equipment in operation (e.g. computer centers or hospital environments) o by simple rubbing due to pedestrian or wheeled traffic. The accumulated charges in fact, under certain conditions, they can be
released in the form of electric arcs or dangerous ESD discharges (Electro Static Discharges).
The physical quantity referred to for the electrical properties of a surface is RESISTIVITY (Re). An insulating surface has Re> 10 9 Ω
Regulatory references and requirements:
▪ in the case of products marked CE according to 1504/2 there are two classes
– class 1 à 10 4 & lt; Re & lt; 10 6 Ω
– class 2 à 10 6 & lt; Re & lt; 10 8 Ω à OK FOR ATEX ZONES
▪ in most other cases in cases (eg. ANSI / ESD STM97.1 / STM97.2, IEC 61340-4-1)
– Re & lt; 10 9 Ω
Compared to traditional systems based on carbon fibers or conductive micas, the ESD SIVIT employs the innovative technology of superconducting carbon nanotubes. The advantages of it result are many:
Technical advantages:
– Homogeneous and constant resistivity values over the entire surface
– Perfect transversal conduction between the layers
– Homogeneity of the color in case of pigmented coatings and more resistant colors
– No influence on overpaintability
– Homogeneous distribution of the nanotubes increases the general mechanics of the coatings
Practical advantages:
– Homogeneous values independent of the applied thickness
– PAVIWATER ESD confers static-dissipative properties with just one cycle coat simplified
Sivit has been among the sponsoring organizations of the ESD National Team for years
Products suitable for HACCP
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is a protocol regulated by Reg. 852/2004 which provides for a set of assessments and control measures to guarantee that in the entire production chain of a food has excellent hygienic conditions.
Therefore, even the products applied in environments where food is produced must be suitable for HACCP evaluation.
The surfaces must generally be easy to clean, non-absorbent, free of harmful substances and comply with certain specific requirements.
For painting products in Italy, reference is made to the technical standard UNI 11021 (Products AND systems for painting in environments with the presence of food – Requirements and test methods).
SIVIT has many years of experience in this area and can offer optimal solutions for all need. Products such as PAVIWATER, FINISOL and FINIWATER have certifications aimed at HACCP evaluation, guaranteeing a complete proposal with elevated quality standards.
Suitable products for food contact
Sivit has a range of different resinous coatings intended for direct contact with food (liquids and solids) Compliant with the provisions of Reg. 10/2011 in terms of global migration.
The certified coatings do not contain substances listed in Annex 1 of the European regulation and they do not release their constituents in quantities that can alter the organoleptic characteristics food or replace a hazard to human health.
Migration tests are conducted using specific food simulants depending on the category of interest.
SIVIT routinely carries out resin finishing works in various food sectors (enological, oil, cereal, etc.) exploiting the performance of the VITREX PLUS and VITREX products WINE.
ISO 22196: 2011 antibacterial surfaces
In order to define an antibacterial surface, reference is made to the requirements established by the standard worldwide technical ISO 22196: 2011 – Measurement of antibacterial activity on plastics and other surfaces non-porous.
Characterization involves measuring the growth resistance of specific strains microbial, so we should more correctly speak of bacteriostatic surfaces.
Antibacterial coatings are widely in demand in specific industrial environments, in particularly in the health- pharmaceutical or food sector but are also widely used in civil and commercial field.
SIVIT has the antibacterial version of all its finishes, transparent and colored, exploiting the safest and most effective technology available now, namely that of ions of silver.
The Ag + product range uses very resistant additives which they guarantee for years an effective surface protection against the main bacterial strains, without influencing aesthetic appearance and chemical-physical performance of the products.
Anti-Slip Ministerial Decree 236 / 89EN 13036-4 / DIN 51130
The determination of the degree of slipperiness of a floor can be determined with multiple procedures, generally difficult to correlate with each other.
Pending the imposition of a harmonized European standard, resistance to slipping of a floor must be foreseen in the design phase by referring to specific method suitable for the context.
In Italy a non-slip flooring is defined by the Ministerial Decree 236/89 in relation to a coefficient of friction μ, measured instrumentally according to the BCRA method also called Tortus. This coefficient must be> 0.4 in dry and wet conditions.
The evaluation of slipperiness using the Grade R, which refers to, is also widespread to German regulations (DIN51130 / DIN51097), also known as the “ramp method” or “inclined plane".
Another widely used test, also because it is required by the CE marking standards, is the method pendulum / skid test (EN13036-4).
SIVIT already offers certified products and cycles to satisfy all test methods described above and constantly collaborates with customers to develop tailor-made solutions.
Reaction to fire EN 13501-1
Very often resinous coatings and building products must be applied in operation governed by specific technical fire prevention provisions.
In most cases, the characterization of the coating according to the fire reaction Euro classes of the European classification system, ref. EN13501-1. In case on the contrary, these Euro classes can be correlated with the Italian classification still in force through the Ministerial Decree 15/03/05.
SIVIT has certified multiple cycles and products in Euro class B fl -s1, including Paviwater, Paviplast W, Fluidepox, Paviplast, Colorsivit Malta.
The reaction to fire performance of a coating must always be agreed in project site and must receive approval from a prevention manager fire or competent authority.
Attention, it should be noted that the fire reaction characteristic of a surface must not be confused with the fire resistance characteristic, which refers exclusively to building elements of a structural type.
Radon barrier certification
One of the main sources of indoor “pollution”; is represented by the radioactivity of natural origin caused by the decay of the Radon element. It is a noble gas radioactive present in varying concentrations depending on the geographical area.
Each state prescribes specific limit values for the concentration of radon in the air in internal environments and periodic monitoring of these values carried out by qualified personnel.
The entry of this gas inside the buildings can be effectively shielded by coating floors and walls in direct contact with the ground with specially designed products.
The accredited laboratory of the University of Prague has certified that the ECOFONDO PLUS applied with appropriate consumption, it allows to create a barrier having a coefficient of extremely low diffusion and therefore allows to significantly limit the entry of Radon gas inside indoor environments.
The tests were conducted with reference to ISO / DIS 11665-10 Met.C
In synergy with adequate ventilation and planning precautions ECOFONDO PLUS turns out to be an effective solution for shielding against Radon.
